The Victorian Allied Health Assistant Workforce Project in collaboration with Wodonga TAFE and the Victorian Department of Health are pleased to inform you that the online leaning package associated with the Victorian Department of Health’s Supervision and Delegation Framework for Allied Health Assistants (health) is now available for completion. These modules (four) can be accessed via the links below and will also be uploaded to the Department of Health website in the near future.

Please note that these learning package align to the 2012 health sector-based framework.

‘Supervision and delegation for allied health assistants (health)’ Learning Package Modules:

Module 1: The Allied Health Team
This section discusses some of the principles required for an effective partnership between an Allied health professional and Allied health assistant. This module will take about 15 minutes to complete.

Module 2: Role and Competencies of an AHA
This section discusses an overview of the AHA qualification, and the role and scope of practice of an AHA. This module will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Module 3: Delegation
This section highlights the importance of effective delegation and understanding the possible barriers to delegation. This module will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Module 4: Supervision
This section discusses all aspects associated with effective supervision, including any barriers that may prevent effective supervision from occurring. This module will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.

Implementation Coaching 2023

The Victorian Allied Health Assistant Workforce Project are delivering an implementation coaching program for Victorian Public Health services in 2023. This implementation coaching will take various forms depending on individual workplace need. The implementation coaching is designed to embed the Victorian Allied health assistant recommendations and resources into practice.

We have had overwhelming demand for implementation coaching. Expressions of interest for this program have now closed. You can, however, still register your interest for any future opportunities by contacting the project team at VictorianAHAWorkforcePlan@monashhealth.org.

Successful applicants will be informed in November 2022.
